Teacher Supports Opportunities Available

At Hutt City Kindergartens we provide quality early childhood education to 19 Kindergartens within the Hutt Valley area.

From time to time kindergartens require extra support to enable a teacher to be released to work one on one with a child who may have some behavioural or special learning needs. In these instances a teacher support person is employed on a casual or fixed term basis (each situation will be different) to work alongside the teaching team to deliver the programme to the larger group of children.

Teacher Support roles involve working with the children, and providing support to the teaching team as and when required. There may also be a small housekeeping part to the role which may involve cleaning/tidying, setting up of resources and preparation of morning and afternoon tea.

We also run four ‘Holiday Kindergarten’ programmes throughout the year which require a teacher support person/s to help support the teaching team in delivering the programme to the children.

If you are motivated, enthusiastic and have a passion for children and their development and learning we would love to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to get experience in kindergarten if you are thinking about teaching as a career option or if you are looking for a role that will fit with your lifestyle and family.

Apply online or in writing to HR@huttkindergartens.org.nz. A CV and cover letter is essential for our selection process.

If you have any queries please contact our HR Manager on 920 9841.

Please note: If you are successful in your application you will be employed on a casual/as required basis therefore we cannot guarantee the regularity of the work. All successful candidates are required undergo a NZ Police Vetting check.
