Teachers Kaye, Natasha, Catherine and Administrator Vanessa work hard to create a welcoming home-away-from-home environment at Taita Kindergarten. It has become a meeting place for families in our multi-cultural suburb, where teachers and the wider community value and support one other. Our kindergarten celebrates the diversity and richness of culture and language that surround the children every day. Artwork and artefacts from many countries adorn the walls.


The team aspire to develop a lifelong passion for learning in our children, encouraging questions and creatively discovering new ways and ideas to teach through play. They have a particular focus on literacy through play and reading, and a desire to help children develop the social skills they need so they will be ready for school.

The aim of the teaching team is
- to make Taita Kindergarten a valued member of the Taita community
- to promote learning, so children reach their potential and become confident, and capable independent thinkers, who will take on the world.
The teaching team wishes to acknowledge and respect the cultural diversity of the community.

Our Philosophy

Taita Kindergarten is a safe and caring place for all.

We value the reciprocal relationships we have with parents / whanau.

Our focus is in developing the potential of every child through rich play experiences, where they learn to make sense of their world and the world around them.

Taita Kindergarten is about building expectations for learning as well as pride in ourselves, each other and our learning place.
